"The Summer I Turned Pretty" Trailer Unveils Taylor Swift's Fresh Take on "Back to December"

Taylor Swift's re-recorded version of "Speak Now" to be released July 7th.

Mark your calendars for an exciting release on July 7th, as Taylor Swift's highly anticipated re-recorded version of her third album, Speak Now (Taylor's Version), is finally hitting the shelves. In a thrilling trailer for the upcoming season of the Prime Video series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Swift gave fans a sneak peek of the revamped "Back to December." And that's not all, the trailer also treated us to a beloved track from her Folklore album, "August."

This isn't the first time Swift has teased her re-recordings in a trailer for The Summer I Turned Pretty. In the previous season's trailer, she previewed "This Love (Taylor's Version)" from her 1989 album. Fans can catch the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty on July 14th, starring Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno, and Christopher Briney.

Swift recently unveiled the complete tracklist of the re-recorded Speak Now album, and it's nothing short of impressive. The album features collaborations with notable artists such as Fall Out Boy and Hayley Williams. Swift took to Instagram to share her excitement, stating, "I'm VERY excited to show you the back cover of Speak Now (my version) including the vault tracks and collaborations with @yelyahwilliams from @paramore and @falloutboy. Since Speak Now was all about my songwriting, I decided to go to the artists who I feel influenced me most powerfully as a lyricist at that time and ask them to sing on the album. They're so cool and generous for agreeing to support my version of Speak Now. I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now) and can't wait to unveil it all to you on July 7th."

Speak Now, originally released on October 25, 2010, under Big Machine Records, was Swift's third studio album. It achieved immense success, boasting several chart-topping hits such as "Mine," "Back to December," "Sparks Fly," and "Ours." The album made waves by selling one million copies in its debut week and dominating the Billboard 200 for an impressive six consecutive weeks. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recognized its achievements by awarding it a six-times platinum certification. At the 54th Annual Grammy Awards in 2012, Speak Now received a nomination for Best Country Album, with the track "Mean" winning both Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.

However, it hasn't been smooth sailing for Swift and her back catalog. Following a dispute over the ownership of her master recordings, Swift took matters into her own hands and announced her plans to re-record her earlier albums. This move allows her to regain control over her music and give fans a chance to experience her beloved songs in a fresh and authentic way.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to immerse yourself in the magic of Taylor Swift's re-recorded Speak Now (Taylor's Version) on July 7th. It's a musical journey that captures Swift's growth as an artist and promises to be a treat for fans both old and new.
