Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica) describes Dune: Part Two as "a devastating blow,"

Dune: Part Two praised by actor Rebecca Ferguson as "unreal" and "phenomenal".

Dune: Part Two is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated science fiction films of the year, and for good reason. The first installment, directed by Denis Villeneuve, was a resounding success both critically and commercially. It brought to life Frank Herbert's iconic 1965 novel Dune with a star-studded cast and awe-inspiring visuals, including enormous sandworms capable of swallowing an entire spice processing plant. However, the first film only covered the first half of Herbert's epic story, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the release of Part Two this fall.

Rebecca Ferguson, who portrays Paul Atreides' mother Lady Jessica in the film, couldn't contain her excitement when discussing the upcoming sequel with Collider. She expressed her genuine enthusiasm, stating, "I'm smiling so much right now. It's so fucking good." Ferguson went on to praise director Denis Villeneuve, cinematographer Greig Fraser, and the entire team involved in the film. She described the first film as "phenomenal and big and grandiose," but insisted that Part Two takes it to a whole new level, comparing it to a "fucking gut punch" that is truly unreal.

Although Ferguson hasn't seen the completed film, she has read the script and witnessed some of the footage. She even made the effort to visit the set when she wasn't filming, which is a rarity for her due to her busy schedule. Ferguson expressed her admiration for the incredible costumes designed by Jacqueline West and the exceptional performances of her fellow cast members, particularly Austin Butler and Christopher Walken. She emphasized that these characters are pivotal to the spectacle of the film, describing them as emperors, princesses, brutal killers, and gory figures. She commended the entire cast as the "crème de la fucking crème" of actors, highlighting the immense talent they bring to the project.

In addition to her role in Dune: Part Two, Ferguson has been actively involved in other projects. She recently produced and starred in Apple TV+'s Silo, which just concluded its first season and is now preparing for season 2. Furthermore, she will be appearing in Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One, and has been announced as the lead in the film adaptation of Joe Abercrombie's First Law book Best Served Cold, where she will portray a mercenary on a bloody quest for revenge. It's clear that Ferguson's career is on a remarkable upward trajectory, and audiences can expect to see much more of her in the future.

Fans can mark their calendars for November 3, when Dune: Part Two will hit theaters. Until then, stay tuned to our Facebook page and sign up for our exclusive newsletter to stay informed about all things fantasy, science fiction, and WiC-related.
