Live Testimony Begins in Taylor Schabusiness Murder Trial - Watch Now!

"High-profile murder trial in Green Bay resumes with shocking testimony"

The trial for a highly publicized murder case in Green Bay, Wisconsin has resumed, and the first testimony was heard on Monday at the Brown County courthouse. Action 2 News is providing live coverage of Taylor Schabusiness's trial on their website, wbay.com/breaking. It's important to note that the video feed will switch away if there is a risk of showing jurors, and efforts will be made to avoid displaying graphic evidence, although the testimony may be disturbing to some viewers.

During the court proceedings, Schabusiness appeared emotionless as the 911 call from the victim's mother and her boyfriend was played. The call detailed their shocking discovery of the victim's severed head in a 5-gallon bucket in the basement. The dispatcher inquired if the head could be fake and asked if there was any blood present in the basement, to which the mother responded negatively. The first officer who arrived at the scene testified that he found a human head, confirmed it with another officer, and called for additional assistance. In bodycam footage presented in court, the officer described a significant amount of blood at the scene. Schabusiness appeared to be attentively watching the officer's bodycam video.

Despite several attempts by Schabusiness's defense attorneys to argue her incompetence to stand trial, the judge did not deem her unfit, including a failed attempt just hours before jury selection on Friday. The trial is being heard by a jury consisting of 12 members and 4 alternates, with 9 women and 7 men. The jurors will have the task of determining Schabusiness's guilt or innocence on three felony charges related to the death of Shad Thyrion in February 2022. If she is found guilty on any of the charges, the second phase of the trial will focus on whether she was responsible for the crime or if she suffered from a mental disease or defect.

The trial is scheduled to last for one week, concluding on Friday. We will keep you updated on any new developments in the courtroom through our on-air and online platforms.
