Michelle Yeoh marries Jean Todt for a blissful union after a 19-year engagement

Michelle Yeoh, the Hollywood star known for her roles in Bond films and Crazy Rich Asians, has married former Ferrari chief Jean Todt in a ceremony in Geneva. The couple had been engaged for 6,992 days before tying the knot. Yeoh recently made history as the first Asian to win the Academy Award for best actress.

In a joyous ceremony held in Geneva, Hollywood star Michelle Yeoh and former Ferrari chief Jean Todt tied the knot, marking the culmination of their 19-year relationship. The couple, dressed in elegant attire, exchanged vows in a beautifully decorated room. Yeoh, radiating delight, showcased her stunning white ensemble, consisting of a silk shirt and a long ruffled skirt. Meanwhile, Todt donned a navy blue suit, complemented by a white shirt and a decorative blue tie.

Yeoh took to social media to share glimpses of their special day. One photo captured the couple cuddled up in bed, surrounded by white and purple rose petals arranged in the shape of a heart, with two swans crafted out of towels. Another image paid homage to Yeoh's iconic role in the 1997 Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, as it showcased a modified version of the classic motorcycle scene with Pierce Brosnan, now featuring Yeoh and Todt, accompanied by the phrase "Love Never Dies."

Expressing their gratitude to their loved ones, Yeoh captioned the post, "19 years and YES!! we are married!! Thkq to our 'families' who love us for all these years. We love you and here's to many more to come."

Among the distinguished attendees was former Ferrari Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa, who shared a snapshot of the wedding program on Instagram. The program revealed that Yeoh and Todt had been engaged for an impressive 6,992 days before finally tying the knot. It recounted their first meeting in Shanghai on June 4, 2004, followed by Todt's proposal on July 26, 2004, and Yeoh's enthusiastic acceptance.

Yeoh, known for her remarkable acting career, made history earlier this year by becoming the first Asian actress to win an Academy Award for Best Actress. Her accolade came for her portrayal of a laundromat owner in the film Everything Everywhere All At Once. Yeoh's rise to stardom began in Hong Kong before she captivated audiences worldwide with her performances in notable works such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), Crazy Rich Asians (2018), and the TV series Star Trek: Discovery.

On the other hand, Todt, who served as the president of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the governing body of Formula One, until the end of 2021, has a distinguished career in the world of motorsports. Prior to his role in FIA, Todt held prominent positions in Peugeot Talbot Sport and the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team.
