Former Kanye West publicist Trevian Kutti booked in Trump election case

Chicago-based publicist Trevian Kutti has been arrested and charged in connection with efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. She is accused of violating Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, conspiracy to commit solicitation of false statements and writings, and influencing witnesses. Kutti allegedly visited an election worker and urged her to confess to election fraud. She was released on bond.

One of the key individuals involved in the investigation is Trevian Kutti, a former publicist for rapper Ye, also known as Kanye West. Kutti was recently photographed with a wide smile on her face in her mugshot after being booked into a Georgia jail.

Kutti, who is based in Chicago, surrendered to the Fulton County jail on Friday morning. She is among the 19 individuals accused of engaging in illegal activities to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kutti was granted a $75,000 bond earlier this week. She faces charges under Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, conspiracy to commit solicitation of false statements and writings, and influencing witnesses, as per the records from the Fulton County jail.

It is alleged that Kutti visited election worker Ruby Freeman in January 2021 at her Cobb County home. During this visit, Kutti reportedly posed as a crisis manager and urged Freeman to confess to committing election fraud, warning her of potential arrest if she refused. Reluctant to engage with Kutti, Freeman eventually met with her at a local police station. It was during this meeting that Kutti reiterated her message, stating that Freeman's freedom, as well as the freedom of her family members, would be disrupted if she did not cooperate. In a recorded conversation, Kutti told Freeman, "I cannot say what specifically will take place." She also assured Freeman that she was not her enemy and described her as "a loose end for a party that needs to tidy up."

Kutti's connection with Freeman reportedly came through Harrison Floyd, a co-defendant in the case and the executive director of Black Voices for Trump. The booking of Kutti follows the recent surrender of former President Donald Trump, who turned himself in after being charged with 13 counts related to the state probe into his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Trump's bail was set at $200,000, and he was promptly processed and released. His formal arraignment, where he is expected to plead not guilty, is scheduled to take place early next month.

It is worth noting that Trump, along with other individuals charged in the Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' probe, including Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis, had their mugshots taken during the processing. Kutti's surrender marks the sixth defendant to turn themselves in on Friday, following Robert Cheeley, Jeffrey Clark, Misty Hampton, Michael Roman, and Shawn Still.

As the investigation unfolds, these developments shed light on the alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. The involvement of prominent figures, including a former publicist for a renowned rapper and the former President himself, adds complexity to the case.
