Leto's daring ascent involved a 20-minute climb up the eastern side of the 102-floor building, starting from the observation deck on the 86th floor and reaching the 104th floor, which is illuminated. From there, he climbed three tiers to the ice shield at the base of the building's iconic antenna, reaching a height of approximately 1,200 feet. (The building stands at 1,454 feet above Midtown Manhattan.)

Reflecting on the climb, Leto admitted that while he was more excited than nervous, it was an incredibly challenging endeavor. He emphasized the physical and mental stamina required for the climb, as well as the sharpness of the building's structure.
