Miami Dolphins pass rusher Jaelan Phillips suffered a non-contact Achilles injury during the third quarter of the Dolphins' game against the Jets at MetLife Stadium. The injury occurred during the first-ever Black Friday NFL game, and Phillips was carted off the field. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel expressed concern about the injury, stating that it "doesn't look great." Safety Jevon Holland also commented on the turf at MetLife Stadium, suggesting that it increases the chances of getting hurt. Raheem Mostert echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for change in the playing surface. MetLife Stadium was recently named the players' least favorite stadium to play in, with the turf being a central reason for the low ranking. Phillips, who had 6.5 sacks in eight games this season, has become a key component of the Dolphins' defense since being selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. The edge rusher has 22 career sacks in three seasons.
