Elon Musk criticizes advertisers for anti-Semitic accusation

Elon Musk tells advertisers who fled X over antisemitic content to "go f*** yourself" in fiery interview. Musk later apologizes.

Billionaire Elon Musk recently made headlines for his profanity-laced response to advertisers who had fled his social media platform X over antisemitic content. In a fiery interview, Musk told the advertisers to "go f*** yourself" after initially expressing contrition for a tweet that agreed with an anti-Jewish post on X.

Musk's controversial tweet, in which he agreed with a user who falsely claimed Jewish people were stoking hatred against white people, drew widespread criticism, including from the White House. Major U.S. companies, such as Walt Disney, Warner Bros Discovery, and NBCUniversal parent Comcast, suspended their ads on X in response to the incident.

The backlash also prompted Musk to travel to Israel and tour the site of Hamas' assault in the country. During a live-streamed conversation on X with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Musk reiterated his stance against antisemitism and hate speech, stating that X would not promote such content.

Netanyahu commended Musk for his commitment to securing a better future and urged him to strike a balance between protecting free speech online and combating hate speech. This conversation followed a previous meeting between the two men at Tesla's headquarters in California, during which they discussed the merits and dangers of advanced artificial intelligence.

Despite the controversy surrounding his social media platform, Musk remains firm in his commitment to combat hate speech and promote a better future. However, his profanity-laced response to advertisers has only added fuel to the fire, further complicating the situation and drawing criticism from various quarters.
