The engagement news came shortly after Lovato revealed that Ehrich had gotten a tattoo in honor of her song "4 Ever 4 Me" while accompanying her on tour. She shared the story on The Jennifer Hudson Show, explaining that Ehrich asked her to ink the tattoo herself, which she initially found surprising.

While Lovato didn't give Ehrich the full tattoo, she assisted with a significant part of the body art and believes it turned out "okay" in the end. She expressed her happiness at being able to share music and a deep connection with Ehrich, who co-wrote one of her singles and several songs on her last album.

Lovato described their relationship as "super in love" and emphasized the joy of finding someone to laugh with and make music with. She expressed her happiness and excitement about their future together.
