Ruby Leigh places second TV The Voice finale

"16-year-old Foley singer Ruby Leigh narrowly misses winning 'The Voice' but makes history as most successful Missourian on the show."

Ruby Leigh, a 16-year-old singer from Foley, captured the hearts of America with her incredible talent on "The Voice." However, despite her remarkable performances, she narrowly missed out on being crowned the winner of the show.

Instead, the title of the winner went to Huntley, a rocker with a powerful voice from Fredericksburg, Virginia. The tension was palpable as the two contestants emerged as the clear frontrunners throughout the season, and the final reveal kept viewers on the edge of their seats.

As Huntley's name was announced, he embraced Leigh, and tears and confetti filled the air. Leigh, who was on coach Reba McEntire's team, expressed her gratitude to McEntire for her unwavering support throughout the competition.

The third-place spot went to Mara Justine from Galloway, New Jersey, followed by Jacquie Roar from North Plains, Oregon, in fourth place, and Lila Forde from Los Angeles in fifth place.

During the finale, Leigh and McEntire performed a duet of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" in a festive Christmas village setting. The show also featured performances from country music duo Dan + Shay, Keith Urban, Earth, Wind and Fire, Teddy Swims, AJR, and Tyla.

Leigh's journey on "The Voice" has solidified her as the most successful contestant from Missouri in the show's history. In 2018, Kennedy Holmes also made it to the finals, but was ultimately eliminated first.

Despite coming close to winning "The Voice," Leigh's journey is far from over. She is set to perform at the Edwardsville American Legion Post 199 on New Year's Eve.

This season of "The Voice" has showcased incredible talent and unforgettable performances, and it's clear that both Leigh and Huntley have bright futures ahead in the music industry.
