This revelation came after Harris initially stated in an interview that he couldn't see himself collaborating with Swift. Reports indicated that Swift was hurt by his comments, leading to the end of their relationship.

He mentioned that Swift wanted to keep her contributions to the song a secret, which led to the use of a pseudonym.
