Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein revealed in a recent interview that she may have sustained a rib fracture after being pushed to the ground and attacked by police during a pro-Palestine protest at Washington University in St. Louis, where she was subsequently arrested.

During the interview on "NewsNation Prime," Stein described the incident, stating that police used their bikes as weapons by forcefully ramming the handles of the bikes into the chests and ribcages of the protesters, including herself, in an attempt to subdue them.

At 73 years old, Stein spent six hours in police custody after her arrest and is now facing charges of assaulting a police officer. She vehemently denies these charges, claiming that she was the one being assaulted and that the accusations are baseless.

The protest, which called for the university to divest from Boeing and boycott Israeli academic institutions, resulted in the arrest of over 100 individuals, including 23 students and four university employees. Stein expressed her solidarity with the student protesters, commending their bravery in demanding divestment from companies supplying arms used in conflicts.

Stein criticized the police tactics used during the protest, condemning what she referred to as the "militarization of our police" and their use of aggressive tactics learned from Israeli military forces. She called on President Joe Biden to intervene and put an end to the violence in Gaza and the Israeli occupation.

Despite her efforts to de-escalate the situation between protesters and police, arrests were made shortly after. Stein's campaign manager and deputy campaign manager were also arrested during the protest.

In a video message, Stein, who is Jewish, expressed her support for the student protesters standing up for democracy and human rights. She called for an end to the genocide in Gaza and urged Biden to take action.

The protest at Washington University is reflective of a larger movement on college campuses nationwide, where students are demanding that schools sever financial ties with Israel. The protests have escalated as graduation ceremonies approach, with tensions running high amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Photos from the protest show police attempting to remove masked protesters while others link arms in solidarity. The university defended the arrests, stating that the protesters had malicious intentions and that the demonstration had the potential to become dangerous.

Several protesters are facing charges of trespassing, resisting arrest, and assault, with injuries reported among both protesters and police officers. The Missouri chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations criticized the arrests as heavy-handed and called for a reevaluation of the police tactics used during the protest.
