Macklemore, the renowned artist, has recently released a powerful new song that stands in solidarity with Palestinians and praises the courageous university students across the United States who are protesting against Israel's brutal war in Gaza.

For weeks, these students have been mobilizing on campuses, denouncing Israel's deadly offensive and the unwavering support it receives from the US. They have faced police crackdowns, with officers forcibly dismantling protest camps and arresting over 2,000 individuals nationwide.

In his song titled "Hind's Hall," a reference to the Columbia University building recently occupied by students in honor of six-year-old Palestinian victim Hind Rajab, Macklemore boldly questions the morality of calling in police on peaceful student protesters while turning a blind eye to the atrocities of genocide.

The artist does not hold back in criticizing the US government, directly addressing President Joe Biden and accusing him of having blood on his hands. Macklemore vows not to support Biden in the upcoming election, condemning the US for its complicity in Israel's oppressive actions.

Macklemore also calls out Israel for its reliance on an apartheid system to maintain its violent occupation, which has persisted for over 75 years. He challenges the narrative that criticism of Zionism is inherently anti-Semitic, highlighting the unity between Jewish individuals and supporters of Palestine in the fight for justice.

In addition to his political commentary, Macklemore takes aim at the music industry for its silence on important issues, contrasting the triviality of rap beefs like Drake and Kendrick Lamar's with the urgent reality of war. The song features a sample of Fairuz's "Ana La Habibi," adding a poignant layer to its message.

Upon its official release for streaming, Macklemore has pledged to donate all proceeds from the song to UNRWA, the UN agency dedicated to supporting Palestinian refugees. Through his music, the artist amplifies the voices of the oppressed and advocates for meaningful change in the face of injustice.
