Nikola Jokic surpasses Steve Nash on NBA all-time list during Nuggets-Timberwolves game

Nikola Jokic makes NBA history with 60th on all-time playoff points list, leading Denver Nuggets in Game 3 against Timberwolves.

On February 19, 2023, in Salt Lake City, UT, Team LeBron center Nikola Jokic spoke to the media ahead of the Denver Nuggets' Game 3 against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center in Minnesota for their second-round playoff series.

During the game, Jokic made NBA history by surpassing Tom Heinsohn, Steve Nash, Jaylen Brown, and Moses Malone to claim the 60th spot on the all-time playoff points list. He put up an impressive stat line of 20 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, three steals, and three blocks, shooting 8/14 from the field and 1/3 from three-point range in just 34 minutes of play.

The Nuggets are currently trailing the Timberwolves 2-0 in the series, making a victory crucial to avoid falling into a daunting 0-3 hole. In their most recent matchup, the Timberwolves dominated Game 2 with a score of 106-80. Jokic himself contributed 16 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists, and one block, shooting 5/13 from the field and 0/1 from three-point range in 34 minutes of play.

Jokic's stellar performance in both the regular season and playoffs has solidified his status as a top player in the NBA. Recently named the 2024 MVP for the third time, Jokic has been a standout performer, earning the MVP title in three of the last four seasons.

Looking ahead, Game 4 will take place on Sunday at the Target Center in Minnesota. The winner of the series will advance to the Western Conference Finals and face either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the Dallas Mavericks in the next round.
