College Football Scores, Updates: Duke vs. Florida State, Utah vs. USC and More

No. 3 Ohio State defeats No. 7 Penn State in a defensive battle, while Oklahoma narrowly beats UCF. Exciting evening games ahead.

The highly anticipated matchup between No. 3 Ohio State and No. 7 Penn State turned out to be a defensive battle, but the outcome will have significant implications for the Big Ten title race. It was another disappointing loss in a series of big games for James Franklin and the Nittany Lions.

However, the excitement picked up in the later games, particularly when Oklahoma narrowly defeated UCF at home. UCF missed a two-point conversion in the final moments that would have tied the game. The Sooners seemed to gain momentum after a UCF receiver taunted their sideline with a kiss during a scoring play.

As the evening progresses, there are two more matchups between ranked teams and several other games that have the potential for upsets.

Here's what to watch for on Saturday night:

7:30 p.m. ET | TV: ABC | Line: FSU -14.5 | Total: 48.5

In the ACC race, Florida State and North Carolina have emerged as frontrunners, but Duke shouldn't be overlooked. Despite QB Riley Leonard's uncertain status due to an ankle injury, the Blue Devils have a 5-1 record (2-0 ACC). Florida State, on the other hand, has been on a winning streak but will face a tough defensive challenge from Duke. A strong offensive performance will be crucial for FSU to maintain their undefeated record.

8 p.m. ET | TV: Fox | Line: USC -7 | Total: 51.5

Despite numerous injuries, Utah remains a contender in the Pac-12 title race with a 5-1 record (2-1 Pac-12). However, they are still without their starting QB Cam Rising. Meanwhile, USC is looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss to Notre Dame. Last year's Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams, had a rough game with three interceptions and a fumble returned for a touchdown. Although USC suffered a loss, they are undefeated in the Pac-12 and seeking redemption at home. Utah denied USC a chance at the CFP and Pac-12 title last year, so Lincoln Riley's team will likely come out with renewed determination.

As the evening unfolds, these matchups promise to deliver excitement and potentially shape the conference races.
