Amazon Fallout series gets video game crossovers on Digital Trends

Amazon Prime's Fallout TV show inspires new content in Fallout Shelter and Fallout 76, including free items and discounts for players.

This week, Amazon Prime debuted a new TV show based on the popular Fallout video game series. In conjunction with the show, both Fallout Shelter and Fallout 76 are receiving new content to tie in with the series.

For fans of the free-to-play vault management game Fallout Shelter, there will be a new eight-mission questline to enjoy. Completing this quest will reward players with six new vault dwellers, including characters like Lucy, Maximus, and The Ghoul from the TV show. Additionally, Bethesda is adding themed items to the game such as a pre-war Cowboy outfit, The Ghoul's revolver, a wedding dress, and a Vault 33 jumpsuit. Players who log in between now and May 7 will receive the Vault 33 jumpsuit for free.

In Fallout 76, players can also expect new in-game items inspired by the Amazon Prime series. Between now and May 7, all players can claim a free Vault 33 jumpsuit, while Fallout 1st subscribers can purchase a West Coast Duster and Hat from the in-game store. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have access to the Vault 33 Survival Kit, which includes Lucy's Vault 33 backpack, lunch boxes, perk card packs, and S.C.O.R.E. Boosters. The backpack will also be available as a Twitch Drop.

To entice more players to try Fallout 76, Bethesda is offering a free play period until April 18 and an 80% discount on the game for the month. Keep in mind that the game is already included in Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra's game libraries, making the discount more appealing to PC players or those without Microsoft or Sony subscriptions.

As Bethesda continues to expand the Fallout universe, fans can look forward to more exciting content and crossovers in the future.
