Wine shop North Main Street charcuterie board program

Vino Garage in Columbia introduces charcuterie program, offering build-your-own boards with artisan meats and cheeses to pair with wine.

Vino Garage, a beloved wine and beer shop nestled on North Main Street in Columbia, recently unveiled its inaugural food program during the first weekend of May. Since its establishment in 2012, this local gem has been a go-to spot for wine enthusiasts, offering 20 on-tap wines by the glass and a selection of beers. Now, with the introduction of a charcuterie program, patrons can elevate their tasting experience by selecting from a curated array of artisan meats and cheeses.

Owner Doug Aylard expressed his excitement about this new venture, emphasizing the importance of diversifying their offerings to solidify their reputation as one of the premier wine destinations in Columbia. The idea had been brewing in Aylard's mind for some time, and the stars finally aligned when Vino Garage obtained its restaurant permit from the Department of Health and Environmental Control at the end of April. With the addition of G. Scott Wild, a seasoned professional who previously managed the acclaimed Lula Drake Wine Parlour, the program is poised for success.

Guests can now indulge in custom charcuterie boards at Vino Garage from Tuesday to Saturday, starting at 3 p.m. until closing time. The prices range from $4 to $6 per item on the board, with a minimum requirement of four items to place an order. The flexibility to mix and match cheeses and meats allows for a personalized tasting experience that caters to individual preferences.

In addition to the new food program, Vino Garage has transformed its outdoor patio space to accommodate food trucks, which have been a hit since their introduction in March 2022. The bottle shop's extended hours until 8 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays and 9 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays provide ample opportunities for guests to enjoy a leisurely evening of wine, beer, and now, delectable charcuterie offerings. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, Vino Garage continues to raise the bar for the local wine and culinary scene in Columbia.
