Former Disney star arrested in Texas for public intoxication and theft
Former Disney Channel star Mitchel Musso was arrested for public intoxication and theft after allegedly stealing a bag of chips.
Mitchel Musso, a 32-year-old actor who gained fame for his various roles on Disney Channel shows, recently found himself in trouble with the law. According to online jail records, Musso was arrested by police in Rockwell, Texas on Saturday.
The incident occurred when the Rockwell police received a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a hotel. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who explained that an intoxicated individual had entered the hotel, taken a bag of chips, and began eating them without paying. When confronted, the individual became verbally abusive and left the premises without settling the bill. The officers located the suspect outside the hotel and identified him as Mitchel Musso.
As a result of the incident, Musso was charged with public intoxication and theft, among other offenses. The stolen item was valued at less than $100, according to jail records. The bail for the public intoxication and theft charges was set at $1,000, while the other charges amounted to approximately $1,080.
Further investigation revealed that Musso had outstanding traffic warrants issued by the Rockwall Police Department. Rockwall is situated about 23 miles northeast of downtown Dallas.
Records indicate that Musso was able to post bail on Sunday, though it remains unclear whether he has obtained legal representation.
In addition to his notable role on "Hannah Montana," Musso, a Texas native born in Garland, also lent his voice to the animated show "Phineas and Ferb," as reported by TV Guide.
