The rumored title for the upcoming Ghostbusters sequel has been revealed, and the official X account teases the first trailer.

Sony Pictures' highly anticipated sequel to Jason Reitman's Ghostbusters: Afterlife is generating buzz with its rumored title and a Halloween tease. The official Ghostbusters X (formerly Twitter) account has released a cryptic video that hints at the arrival of the first trailer for the upcoming film. The video showcases the frozen logo that was unveiled earlier this year, accompanied by a chilling howl. However, no release date or confirmation of footage has been provided.

Adding to the excitement, there is a rumor circulating online that the sequel will be titled Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. This speculation aligns with the icy ghost logo but should be taken with a grain of salt until official confirmation is received.

Back in April, fans were treated to the first set photos, which featured original Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson alongside Paul Rudd, who portrayed the kids' teacher, Mr. Grooberson, in the previous film. Another familiar face from the '80s classic, William Atherton, also appeared as the "dickless" Environmental Protection Agency officer Walter Peck.

While plot details remain undisclosed, it has been confirmed that the sequel will return to the bustling streets of New York City after exploring a more rural setting in Afterlife.
