Trump Justifies Unsorted Boxes by Citing Hectic Schedule

Trump explains boxes of government documents as personal belongings and memorabilia.

Former President Donald Trump addressed the numerous boxes, some of which contained government documents, that were seen after he left office. He stated that the reason for their presence was his busy schedule and the lack of opportunity to sort through them. Trump made these comments during a speech at Bedminster, following his arraignment in Miami on 37 counts related to retaining classified documents.

Trump responded to the staged photographs of the boxes at Mar-a-Lago, which were presented as evidence in the indictment against him by the Biden administration. He emphasized that he had the right to possess these boxes under the Presidential Records Act. Furthermore, he clarified that the boxes contained a wide range of personal belongings, such as shirts, shoes, and various other items. The photograph displayed one of the boxes, which had been neatly arranged, but was later scattered on the floor, presumably by someone other than himself.

The boxes were filled with newspapers, press clippings, and an extensive collection of thousands of pictures, particularly White House photographs. Trump acknowledged the presence of White House photographers, some of whom were present during his speech, and credited them for capturing numerous moments that were preserved in the boxes. Additionally, the boxes contained clothing, memorabilia, and various other items.

Trump admitted that he had not yet had the opportunity to go through all the boxes due to the time-consuming and meticulous nature of the task. He acknowledged that sorting through the contents would require a significant amount of time, which he had initially been prepared to invest. However, he pointed out that his busy lifestyle had prevented him from dedicating sufficient time to this endeavor.

In response to Trump's indictment, Newsmax host Greg Kelly presented evidence that the 102 documents seized by the FBI could easily fit into a single box. This revelation raises questions about the significance of the numerous boxes seen at Mar-a-Lago and their relation to the charges brought against Trump.

Overall, Trump's explanation sheds light on the presence of the boxes and offers insights into their contents. While his claim of a busy schedule may explain the delay in sorting through them, the discrepancy between the number of boxes and the actual quantity of seized documents raises further curiosity.
