It has been revealed that a Philadelphia-based tow company, TDI Towing, is the mastermind behind a multi-million dollar catalytic converter theft ring. The shocking details of this operation have recently come to light, with charges being filed against 11 individuals involved.

The investigation into TDI Towing's theft ring was led by Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintrub, who announced that over 5,000 hours of undercover surveillance were conducted. This extensive operation uncovered an astonishing $8 million scheme involving stolen catalytic converters over a span of three years. It was discovered that TDI Towing would steal an average of 175 converters per week, earning $300 for each one. These converters contained valuable precious metals such as rhodium, platinum, and palladium.

At the center of it all was Michael Williams, the mastermind behind this elaborate operation. Williams, who ran the towing company, was identified as the head honcho responsible for orchestrating the thefts. Additionally, six other suspects, who were both employees of TDI Towing and somehow related to Williams, were also implicated in the scheme. Authorities allege that they all collaborated in stealing converters from unsuspecting victims.

The six employees charged in connection with the theft ring include Michael Bruce, Eric Simpson, Kevin Schwartz, Patrick Hopkins, Lisa Davalos, and a juvenile whose identity has not been disclosed. Investigators have revealed that these individuals purchased the stolen converters and brought them to TDI Towing during all hours of the night.

In addition to the employees, four more suspects, who are believed to be the cutters involved in dismantling the stolen converters, have also been charged. Anthony Davalos, Michael Evangelist, and Gary Shirley have already been arrested, while Richard Page remains at large.

What makes this case even more alarming is that TDI Towing did not limit their operations to vehicles within Philadelphia city limits. A total of 27 other local law enforcement agencies collaborated with authorities on the TDI Towing investigation, highlighting the widespread nature of this criminal enterprise.
