Celebrating Independence Day: Pleasanton Express Wishes You a Happy 4th of July

Three free July 4th events in Atascosa County, Texas announced.

Exciting news, residents of Atascosa County! Your local cities have organized not one, not two, but three fantastic and free July 4th events for you to enjoy. What could be better than celebrating America's independence surrounded by your loved ones, dressed in patriotic colors, indulging in free hot dogs, and watching a mesmerizing fireworks display? I understand that the scorching Texas heat can be a deterrent, but let's remember that it's July in Texas, and it's simply un-Texan and un-American to miss out on a July 4th firework extravaganza. So, mark your calendars and make plans to attend one or even all of these incredible events.

These free events, organized by our local municipalities, require a tremendous amount of effort and dedication. When I was growing up, my parents made it a point to take us to every local event. Not only was it a reflection of the times, but they strongly believed that active participation is crucial for building a strong and vibrant community. They believed that our collective experiences with our neighbors, whether at work, in worship, or at play, are what make a community truly great. Even just showing up at a public event sends a powerful message of support to the municipality or organization behind it.

At the Pleasanton Express, we take immense joy in seeing our friends and readers come out to support community events. We will be present at all three of these events, capturing photos and sharing live videos. We sincerely hope to see you there!

And hey, if you happen to take any adorable 4th of July photos, don't forget to tag the Pleasanton Express so we can share in your joy!

Let's start with Jourdanton City Park, located at 1901 Campbell Ave. This is the place to be on Saturday, July 1. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m., with a breathtaking professional firework show starting at 9 p.m. This free community event has something for everyone. Indulge in free hot dogs, chips, drinks, popcorn, and snow cones while enjoying music and engaging in fun games suitable for the entire family.

But the festivities don't end there! On the same Saturday, Charlotte will be hosting their Fourth of July Market Day and Super Fantastic Fireworks Display at Davenport Park. This event starts at 11 a.m. and goes on until 10 p.m. There will be plenty of activities to keep you entertained, including cornhole and washers tournaments from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additionally, there will be vendors, food trucks, bouncy houses, music, and much more throughout the day.

And of course, we can't forget about the City of Pleasanton's celebration on Tuesday, July 4, at the Pleasanton River Park. This event promises to be a memorable one, with live music, mouthwatering food vendors, free popcorn and water (first come, first served), and a dazzling firework show to conclude the night. Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets for maximum comfort.

So, Atascosa County, get ready to celebrate Independence Day like never before. These three free events are a testament to the strong community spirit that exists in our area. Let's come together, enjoy the festivities, and create lasting memories with our fellow neighbors.
