Max Verstappen claims sixth consecutive victory at British Grand Prix

Max Verstappen wins British Grand Prix, Lando Norris holds off Hamilton.

Max Verstappen showcased his dominance once again with a commanding victory at the British Grand Prix, while Lando Norris put up a fierce fight against Lewis Hamilton to secure second place.

The race took an unexpected turn when a late safety car was deployed, putting Norris' position in jeopardy. McLaren made the bold decision to put Norris on the harder, more durable tire instead of the faster soft compound. However, the 23-year-old managed to hold off Hamilton in an exhilarating battle between the two British favorites, much to the delight of the sold-out crowd at Silverstone.

In a remarkable display of strength from the British drivers, Norris' teammate Oscar Piastri finished fourth, just ahead of George Russell, resulting in three British drivers in the top five.

Verstappen's win marks his sixth consecutive victory and extends his lead in the championship standings to a staggering 99 points.

Reflecting on his performance, Verstappen admitted to a poor start but praised the speed of Norris and McLaren. It took a few laps for Verstappen to overtake them, but once he did, he felt more comfortable. Despite the win, Verstappen acknowledged that it was not an easy race.

McLaren, who have struggled for form this season, delivered an impressive performance thanks to a major upgrade at their home race. Norris briefly led the race after a fantastic start, becoming the first McLaren car to lead the British Grand Prix since Hamilton in 2012. However, Verstappen's superior Red Bull car allowed him to regain the lead after just four-and-a-half laps.

Piastri held onto third place, with Russell unable to find a way past Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

Hamilton had a challenging start, dropping to eighth place after the first lap. However, he managed to regain positions and benefited from the safety car deployment, turning a net seventh into third after the reshuffling.

When the safety car pulled in, Norris found himself under pressure from Hamilton. Hamilton attempted multiple overtakes, but Norris expertly defended his position, leaving Hamilton with no room to pass. Norris successfully maintained his lead and crossed the finish line 2.9 seconds ahead of Hamilton.

McLaren had a strong showing overall, with Piastri finishing fourth and Russell in fifth. Sergio Perez, who started in 15th place, managed to secure sixth place.

Alonso finished in seventh, while Alex Albon impressed with a solid eighth-place finish for Williams.

Verstappen ultimately secured the victory, crossing the finish line 3.7 seconds ahead of Norris, continuing Red Bull's unbeaten streak this season.
