Brad Pitt Shares His Experience at the British Grand Prix with Enthusiasm

Brad Pitt walks the starting grid at British Grand Prix.

Brad Pitt made a grand entrance at the British Grand Prix as he prepared for his role as a Formula 1 driver in an upcoming film. Alongside his co-star Damson Idris, Pitt donned a white and black racing outfit featuring the logo of their fictional team, APXGP. The official Formula 1 Instagram account welcomed the team to the grid, sharing snapshots of Pitt and Idris standing alongside actual F1 drivers like Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz.

Pitt also had the opportunity to drive on the track for the movie, and he expressed his excitement after the adrenaline-filled experience in front of 140,000 race fans at the Silverstone race track. Speaking to Sky Sports F1 presenter Martin Brundle, Pitt said, "We're just having such a laugh, time of my life. It's just all been great, the vibe's amazing, and everyone has been really cool with us. It's every guy's dream."

Describing his character in the film, Pitt shared, "I would be a guy who raced in the 90s, had a horrible crash, disappeared, and is now racing in other disciplines." He explained that his character's friend, played by Javier Bardem, becomes the team owner of the last-place team. They bring in a young phenom portrayed by Damson Idris, and "hijinks ensure." Pitt emphasized the thrilling aspect of the movie, with never-before-seen shots of speed and G-forces.

Despite his experience with motorcycles, Pitt admitted that he had never driven a racing car on a track before. He found it "really humbling" to have guidance from the professional drivers on the track. Pitt joked about his driving skills, saying he had unintentionally taken a few tours through the grass but had not hit anything hard yet, except for his ego.

Pitt expressed his respect for the drivers, acknowledging their athleticism and the aggression and dexterity required to be a driver. He urged the armchair experts to give them some breathing room, assuring them that any spin-outs or stalls they witnessed were part of the design.

The British Grand Prix attracted a star-studded crowd, including celebrities like Florence Pugh, Liam Payne, Geri Horner, Cara Delevingne, Paris Hilton, and Damian Lewis. It was a glamorous event that showcased the excitement and allure of Formula 1 racing.
