Weakness at WR revealed in Patriots' 'Madden 24' player ratings
No Patriots wide receivers rank in top 30 in Madden 24.
In a disappointing turn of events for the New England Patriots, none of their wide receivers have made it into the top 30 rankings at the position in the upcoming "Madden 24" video game. This news comes just a day after the Patriots missed out on signing DeAndre Hopkins, who went on to join the Tennessee Titans on a lucrative two-year contract worth $26 million.
Hopkins, now ranked as the seventh-best wide receiver in the game with an impressive overall rating of 93, has left Patriots fans feeling even more disheartened. Meanwhile, the highest-rated wideout for the Patriots in "Madden 24" is newcomer JuJu Smith-Schuster, who has been given an overall rating of 82. However, he only ranks as the 40th best receiver in the game.
Following Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker is the next highest-rated Patriots wide receiver with an overall rating of 80. The ratings then drop with Kendrick Bourne at 77, Tyquan Thornton at 70, Demario Douglas at 67, and Kayshon Boutte and Tre Nixon at 66.

The underwhelming ratings for the Patriots' wide receiver group shouldn't come as a surprise to fans. The team has been in desperate need of talented receivers ever since Mac Jones took over as quarterback in 2021. In an attempt to provide Jones with an elite option, the Patriots even hosted DeAndre Hopkins for a free-agent visit in June. However, Hopkins ultimately decided to sign with the Titans instead of joining the Patriots.
In addition to revealing the wide receiver ratings, EA Sports has also unveiled the ratings for safeties in "Madden 24." Patriots safety Kyle Dugger received a respectable overall rating of 86, placing him 16th among all safeties. Following Dugger are Jabril Peppers with an 83 rating, Adrian Phillips with an 81 rating, Cody Davis with a 68 rating, Joshuah Bledsoe with a 65 rating, Brad Hawkins with a 63 rating, and Brenden Schooler with a 62 rating.
As the week progresses, EA Sports will continue to release player ratings for other positional groups in "Madden 24." Patriots fans will undoubtedly be eager to see how their team's players stack up against the competition.
