MHADA lottery 2023 receives 1.06 lakh applications for 4,000 homes.
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has received a total of 1.22 lakh applications for its MHADA lottery 2023, which offers 4,000 homes in Mumbai. These homes are primarily in the affordable housing segment and start at a price of Rs 24 lakh.
Out of the 1.22 lakh applications, 1.06 lakh have been accepted by MHADA. However, 527 applications have been disqualified due to ineligibility, and over 14,000 applications are currently on hold pending further scrutiny.
MHADA has prepared a draft list of applications, which includes 1,22,235 applicants who have paid the deposit amount. Among these, 527 applications have been disqualified, and 14,990 are still under scrutiny. As a result, 1,06,799 applicants will be eligible to participate in the computerized draw.
Applicants whose applications have been disqualified have the option to appeal and submit their grievances to MHADA until July 19, 2023. Similarly, those with applications on hold due to scrutiny have until July 21 to submit their grievances.
The majority of the homes offered in the Mumbai MHADA lottery 2023, approximately 93 percent, are reserved for the economically weaker section (EWS) and the lower income group. The remaining homes are allocated to the middle-income group (MIG) and high-income group (HIG).
Out of the 4,000 homes, 2,790 are designated for EWS, 1,034 for the LIG category, 139 for MIG, and 120 for HIG.
The prices of these homes range from Rs 24 lakh to Rs 7.57 crore, with the carpet area starting at 204 sq ft and going up to 1,500 sq ft.
The homes are located in various areas of Mumbai, including Vikhroli, Antop Hill, Goregaon, Dadar, Wadala, Andheri, Kandivali, Malad, Byculla, Tardeo, Juhu, Chembur, Powai, Chandivali, and Sion.
According to the list provided by MHADA, the most affordable apartment is located in Chandivali, near Powai, while the most expensive apartment is in Tardeo, in south Mumbai.
