The mention of Black Wall Street refers to the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which thrived in the early 20th century. It was a vibrant community with Black-owned shops, hotels, and theaters. However, in 1921, a race massacre orchestrated by white residents devastated the district. Brown's goal is to recreate the success of Black Wall Street in Boston, one hundred years later.

Brown is already making a difference in his community through his involvement with the Bridge Program at MIT. This program, developed by the 7uice Foundation and the Community Biotechnology Initiative at the MIT Media Lab, aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders in science and technology. It specifically targets young people from underrepresented minority communities in grades 8-12.

Through his 7uice Foundation, Brown has been actively working to bridge the opportunity gap for youth in underserved Black and Brown communities. With his new contract, he will have even more opportunities to create lasting social change.

On the basketball court, Brown has proven himself as a standout player. He had a remarkable season, averaging a career-high of 26.6 points on 49.1 percent shooting. As a two-time All-Star, he has been instrumental in leading the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals five times and the NBA Finals once in 2022.
