"Tyler Childers Unveils Bombshell Album Announcement with Stunning New Song Vid"

Tyler Childers announces new album "Rustin' in the Rain" with emotional video.

Tyler Childers has recently announced the upcoming release of his sixth studio album, titled "Rustin' in the Rain." Set to be released on September 8, the album will be available through the Hickman Holler/RCA label. This highly anticipated LP follows Childers' previous triple album, "Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven?," which was released in 2022 and featured his longtime band, the Food Stamps.

To give fans a taste of what's to come, Childers has released the lead single from the album, titled "In Your Love," along with an emotionally charged music video directed by Bryan Schlam. The video, which showcases creative direction from Silas House, features a compelling storyline written by House himself. House, a New York Times bestselling author, is also the Poet Laureate of Kentucky, which happens to be Childers' home state. Additionally, House is the recipient of the prestigious 2022 Duggins Prize, the largest award for LGBTQ writers in the country.

The music video for "In Your Love" takes viewers on a journey through rural Appalachia in the 1950s, following the lives of two men, portrayed by Colton Haynes and James Scully, as they navigate their relationship in a time and place where their love is not widely accepted. This representation of LGBTQ individuals in a country music video holds great significance for House, who shares his personal connection to the project. As a gay teenager who loved country music, House never thought he would see himself represented in a music video. The visibility and inclusion of LGBTQ individuals in rural areas is a powerful step forward for representation in the country music genre.

Childers himself describes his new album as a collection of songs that he playfully put together, as if he were pitching them to Elvis Presley. The album features a mix of covers, a co-write, and even some songs that Childers wrote while channeling his best (or worst) Elvis impersonation. He reveals that many of these songs were written while he worked around his farm and spent time at home. Childers expresses his hope that listeners will enjoy the album as much as he enjoyed creating it, thanking them for their support.

With the release of "Rustin' in the Rain" and the powerful music video for "In Your Love," Tyler Childers continues to make his mark on the country music scene. His ability to blend heartfelt storytelling with authentic emotions and relatable experiences resonates with fans across the globe. As he explores new musical territories and addresses important themes, Childers remains true to his roots, delivering music that is both captivating and thought-provoking.
