Sadio Mane's lucrative wages surpassed by Al Nassr teammate Cristiano Ronaldo
Sadio Mane is set to earn a staggering £650,000 per week in his move to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Sadio Mane, the incoming Al Nassr forward, is set to sign a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia. The 31-year-old Senegal international has agreed to leave Bayern Munich, just a year after joining the German club from Liverpool. According to Sky Sports, Al Nassr and Bayern have agreed on a £24 million transfer fee.
Mane has committed to a four-year stay in the Gulf nation, where he will earn an impressive £34 million per season, tax-free. If he sees out his contract until 2027, he will earn a staggering £136 million. This equates to over £650,000 per week, £2.6 million per month, £93,000 per day, £3,900 per hour, and £65 per minute.
However, Mane's contract is overshadowed by his future teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the highest-paid athlete in history. The 38-year-old Portuguese forward, who joined Al Nassr in the winter transfer window, earns a jaw-dropping £177 million per year. This translates to £14.75 million per month, £3.4 million per week, and £484,000 per day, almost matching Mane's weekly earnings.
To provide further context, Forbes named Lionel Messi as the highest-paid sportsperson in 2022. The Inter Miami forward, who recently left Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent, earned £107 million from his football salary and commercial bonuses. While this is £70 million less than Ronaldo's deal, it still surpasses Mane's earnings by over £70 million.
Mane has also been surpassed by his former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, who joined Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia. Henderson will earn an impressive £700,000 per week, amounting to £36.4 million per year.
