He went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, but he tearfully admitted after the game that he had considered quitting baseball multiple times during his lengthy rehabilitation. However, he was encouraged by his parents not to give up, and he is grateful that he listened to them.

Hahn explained that the decision to trade Burger was based solely on the opportunity to acquire a highly regarded left-handed pitching prospect. Pitching was a priority for the White Sox during the trade deadline, and they were able to acquire multiple high-caliber arms, including Eder, who is considered the Marlins' fourth-best overall prospect. Eder, a 6-foot-4 left-handed pitcher, has a 4.25 ERA in Double-A this season.

While the decision to trade Burger was difficult, it reflects the White Sox's belief in Eder's potential to be a special arm and contribute to the team's success in the long term.
