WWE Summerslam 2023: Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton Return Updates Revealed by Insiders

Summerslam 2023 may not see the return of WWE stars Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton due to ongoing health issues.

Summerslam 2023 is right around the corner, and wrestling fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of WWE stars Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton making their long-awaited return to the ring for this highly anticipated event.

Summerslam is often regarded as the second biggest event in the WWE calendar, following closely behind Wrestlemania. It's a spectacle that showcases marquee matches and serves as the culmination of major feuds. This year's event, taking place on Saturday night, is expected to feature intense rivalries between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar, as well as Ricochet and Logan Paul.

One of the exciting aspects of Summerslam is the potential for new feuds to emerge or for missing superstars to make surprise comebacks. For quite some time now, former world champions Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt have been absent from the WWE due to health issues. Speculation has been rife that one or both of them could make a surprise appearance at Ford Field on Saturday night. However, recent reports suggest that this is highly unlikely.

Randy Orton has been out of action all year as he continues to recover from a major back surgery. Despite rumors of his presence in Detroit for the event, reliable sources have indicated that he is still far from being medically cleared to make his return. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported, "Despite reports of Randy Orton being in Detroit, I'm told by people close to Randy that he is nowhere near medically cleared to return at this point."

Similarly, Bray Wyatt has been absent from the WWE for months due to a mysterious illness. There have been widespread rumors of his imminent return, with Summerslam being a potential platform for his comeback. However, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com stated on Friday that there is no indication within the company of Wyatt appearing at the event. Johnson wrote, "Numerous sources [claim] that Wyatt has been out with a health issue and until he is cleared to return (and there's no indication that is on the horizon), he obviously can't appear."

While WWE has become adept at keeping major surprises under wraps for their flagship events, fans tuning into Summerslam 2023 should temper their expectations regarding the potential appearance of these former Wyatt Family members. It's always possible that the WWE has managed to keep their return a secret, but for now, it seems unlikely that we'll see them at this exclusive live event on Peacock.
