Arsenal 23yo approached by two Bundesliga clubs

Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg have made approaches for Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares, who prefers to stay in the Premier League.

According to a report from Football.London, both Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg have expressed interest in Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares. However, Tavares currently prefers to remain in England and play in the Premier League.

Although Arsenal is open to selling Tavares, who has two years left on his contract, they have not yet received any offers from other Premier League teams. West Ham United is said to be interested but has not made a formal approach.

Earlier, Sky Sports News had reported that Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg are keen on signing Tavares this summer. Arsenal values the player at around £13m, having acquired him from Benfica for £8m in 2021. Additionally, Tavares has attracted attention from undisclosed clubs in England and Italy.

Recently, Tavares returned to training with Arsenal after a loan spell with Marseille last season and participating in the u21 European Championship over the summer. Initially, he did not have a number on his shirt or shorts in training pictures, as he lost the number 20 to Jorginho. However, he has now been assigned the number 28.

Currently, Tavares often trains separately from the main group, alongside Albert Sambi Lokonga, Cedric Soares, and Folarin Balogun, who are also linked with potential transfers. Marseille had considered making Tavares' loan permanent, but they did not have an option to buy and could not agree on a price before returning him to Arsenal.

While Oleksandr Zinchenko is likely Arsenal's preferred left-back, they also have Kieran Tierney, Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Jakub Kiwior, all of whom have experience playing in that position. If Arsenal receives a favorable offer for Tavares, they will likely consider it.
