Thunder Over Michigan Airshow Crash: Plane Collides with Unoccupied Vehicles
A plane crashed into a parking lot during an airshow in Michigan, causing the residents to feel the impact.
On Sunday evening, residents of the Waverly on the Lake Apartments complex in Belleville experienced a different kind of impact when a plane crashed into the parking lot. Jessica Skeens Wynn, a resident of the complex, described the moment as a heavy impact that shook her apartment. Unlike the usual planes flying over during the Thunder Over Michigan show, this crash caused her cats and bird to freak out and run. Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash, as the pilot and backseater successfully ejected from the aircraft before it crashed into some unoccupied vehicles. Sean Barlett, who witnessed the crash from the Hantz Hangar, described it as an explosion rather than a planned display. Both pilots were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the FAA.
