'Green Bay Packers' Jordan Love throws touchdown in crucial preseason finale'

Jordan Love, the new starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, had a solid performance in his final preseason game. The Packers are hoping Love can have a similar impact as Geno Smith did for the Seattle Seahawks last season.

In a game that marked Love's final preparation before taking on the role of starting quarterback for the Packers in the upcoming season, following the departure of Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, Love showed promise. Love, a first-round pick from Utah State in the 2020 draft, had previously only made one regular-season start.

During the game, Love completed 9 of 15 passes for a total of 63 yards and also carried the ball three times for 21 yards. It's worth noting that Love was facing a Seattle defense comprised mostly of backup players. In the preseason, Love had performed well, going 21 of 33 for 193 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in three starts for the Packers, resulting in a 2-1 record.

One of Love's highlights in the game was a 6-yard touchdown pass to Watson, which came after he had missed an opportunity to connect with Watson on a deep pass earlier in the series. Love led the Packers on a 15-play, 80-yard drive to secure the touchdown. In his other two drives, the Packers managed a field goal and went three-and-out.

The Packers have high hopes for Love, aiming for him to have a similar impact to Geno Smith of the Seattle Seahawks last season. Smith led the Seahawks to an unexpected playoff berth after they traded their Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. In this particular game, the Seahawks rested Smith and most of their starters, giving backup quarterback Drew Lock the opportunity to lead the team's offense for the majority of the game.

Lock completed 16 of 25 passes for 150 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jake Bobo, an undrafted rookie free agent from UCLA. Bobo's impressive preseason performance could potentially earn him a spot on Seattle's final roster. Lock also orchestrated a 10-play, 89-yard drive that ended with a 1-yard touchdown run by SaRodorick Thompson, giving the Seahawks their first lead of the game with 6:38 remaining.

However, Green Bay ultimately secured the victory with Nate McCrary's 1-yard touchdown run with just 1:56 left on the clock. This touchdown concluded a nine-play, 75-yard drive that featured a 52-yard completion from Alex McGough to Jadakis Bonds.

Anders Carlson, a rookie kicker for the Packers drafted from Auburn in the sixth round, made two field goals during the game. He successfully kicked a 43-yarder in the first quarter and an impressive 57-yarder in the final minute of the first half. Unfortunately, Carlson had an extra-point attempt blocked. The Packers have chosen Carlson as the successor to Mason Crosby, the franchise's all-time leading scorer.

Overall, Love's performance in this game demonstrated his potential as the Packers' starting quarterback. With the support of the team and his own determination, Love aims to fill the void left by Aaron Rodgers and lead the Packers to success in the upcoming season.
