Saunders stated, "I'm not going to reveal the name just yet. People have been speculating, but that's not the official name. We are still in the process of finalizing it. We have been brainstorming and considering various options."

The name "Cut the Check" has been used internally by Jordan Brand to refer to the sneaker in documents and calendars, which subsequently led to its widespread use in the sneaker community. This leak also revealed details such as SKUs, color combinations, and the expected release window of holiday 2023. However, it is important to note that Jordan Brand has not officially confirmed any of this information for public release. The code name inadvertently became the unofficial name due to the leak.
