Bruce Springsteen, also known as "The Boss," has announced that he will be postponing his September shows due to doctors' orders. The rock legend revealed on his website that he is currently being treated for symptoms of "peptic ulcer disease," which causes ulcers to form in the stomach or small intestine and can lead to heartburn, nausea, and stomach pain.

This unexpected breather means that scheduled stops in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Albany, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Washington, Connecticut, and Ohio will all be postponed. Springsteen expressed his disappointment in a statement posted on his site and social media, saying, "Over here on E Street, we're heartbroken to have to postpone these shows. We'll be back to pick up these shows and then some."

This isn't the first time Springsteen has had to postpone shows due to illness. Earlier this year, he was forced to reschedule shows in Albany, Connecticut, and Columbus, Ohio, also due to health issues. However, the rock icon is known for his high-energy, three-hour concerts with the E Street Band, and fans can look forward to his return once he has recovered.

Springsteen's current tour with the E Street Band is their first in six years and began in Tampa, Florida, in February. The rock legend, who will be turning 74 later this month, recently performed three nights of shows in his home state of New Jersey.

Despite the setback, Springsteen remains optimistic and determined to return to the stage. Fans who were looking forward to his upcoming shows will have to wait a little longer, but can rest assured that The Boss will be back to deliver unforgettable performances.
