Death of Euphoria Actor Angus Cloud: Accidental Overdose Ruled
The sudden death of 'Euphoria' star Angus Cloud was ruled accidental due to acute intoxication from multiple substances.
The tragic passing of Angus Cloud, the rising star of the hit show Euphoria, sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Initial speculation suggested that his death was a result of suicide, but a recent coroner's report has ruled it as accidental.
Angus Cloud, much like his Euphoria co-star Zendaya, began his acting career in his hometown of Oakland. At just 25 years old, he passed away on July 31 at his family's residence. According to relatives, he was discovered with his head resting on his desk, having peacefully fallen asleep and never waking up.
New information from KRON4, based on the findings of the coroner and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, reveals that Cloud's cause of death was acute intoxication due to the combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and benzodiazepine. The coroner has officially deemed it an accidental death.
In the aftermath of her son's passing, Lisa Cloud, Angus' mother, shared her perspective on his final day. She wrote, "Although my son was grieving deeply over his father's untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was filled with joy." Lisa explained that Angus had been discussing his commitment to caring for his sisters and had been busy reorganizing his home.
"He did not have any intention of ending his life," Lisa firmly stated. "We may discover that he tragically and accidentally overdosed, but it is abundantly clear that he did not plan to leave this world. Social media speculations suggesting otherwise are simply untrue."
Angus Cloud, who hailed from an Irish family, was born in Oakland in 1998. He attended the Oakland School for the Arts alongside Zendaya, and it was there that their paths intertwined. Cloud's breakout role as the empathetic drug dealer Fezco in Euphoria garnered immense praise. However, there were rumors that his character might meet an untimely demise at the end of Season 2, and Season 3 had not yet entered production.
Following his passing, a mural featuring Angus Cloud was unveiled on East 19th Street, between 3rd and Park, in Oakland, as a tribute to his talent and impact.
In a previous interview with Interview magazine, Cloud opened up about his experiences. Despite not attending college himself, he admitted to sneaking into UC Berkeley frat parties during his teenage years. Interestingly, he portrayed a fraternity member in the yet-to-be-released film The Line.
Cloud also expressed his discomfort with fame, stating, "I'd rather people didn't recognize me. I'm not upset when they do, but I'd prefer they didn't. I just want to have ordinary interactions with people. I don't want to be treated as someone special."
The loss of Angus Cloud is a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life and the struggles that many individuals face behind closed doors. It serves as a call for compassion, understanding, and support within our communities.
