Trump mocks crazy Nancy Pelosi in fiery California speech
Former President Trump criticizes Nancy Pelosi and mocks her husband during a speech at the California GOP convention. Trump also attacks President Biden and criticizes California's Democratic leadership.
During a speech at the California GOP convention, former President Trump took a direct jab at former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). He criticized her for allegedly ruining San Francisco and questioned the well-being of her husband. Trump also mocked Pelosi for opposing the construction of a border wall despite having a wall around her own house, which he implied was ineffective.
Pelosi has often been a target of Trump's attacks, as they frequently clashed during his presidency. Trump's remarks about her husband, Paul Pelosi, referred to a previous incident where he was attacked by a home intruder, resulting in critical injuries. Trump had previously expressed sympathy for the incident, and his son, Donald Trump Jr., even posted memes advocating for a ban on hammers, the weapon used in the attack.
While California may not be competitive in the general election, it holds significance for the GOP presidential primary. Trump used his speech to criticize the state's Democratic leadership and vowed to reverse the decline of America and end what he referred to as the desecration of California.
In a profanity-laced line, Trump also targeted President Biden, accusing the Department of Justice of targeting him with multiple criminal indictments due to his strong political opposition. He argued that the DOJ goes after opponents who pose a significant threat, citing his own substantial lead over Biden in polls.
Interestingly, Trump did not mention the death of longtime California Senator Dianne Feinstein (D), which occurred earlier that day. The convention also featured speeches from Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, and another speech by Senator Tim Scott scheduled for the following day.
