Joining Stefani on stage are Niall Horan, John Legend, and the newcomer Reba McEntire. McEntire is no stranger to the world of country music or television, and Stefani recently addressed the rumors surrounding McEntire's status as an icon and whether or not Shelton's wife welcomes her on stage.

Gwen Stefani returns to The Voice for Season 24, as Blake Shelton takes a step back from coaching duties. Stefani is joined on stage by the seasoned veterans Niall Horan, who emerged as the winner of Season 23, and the talented John Legend. Additionally, the highly respected Reba McEntire has entered the season to take Shelton's place.

While McEntire has never been a full-time coach on The Voice, she has previously served as a mega mentor. Her immense popularity in the country music world makes it understandable why NBC would choose to replace Shelton with an icon of similar status.

During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Stefani and Horan discussed the upcoming season of The Voice, and the topic of McEntire naturally came up. Stefani had nothing but praise for the country queen, describing the experience of working alongside her as surreal.

"It feels surreal when you look over and see her there because she's just such an icon," Stefani shared with Jennifer Hudson. "And it's like, that's her. Like, I'm next to her, and that voice is coming out, and we're doing this. It was a pretty surreal moment. Beyond a bucket list, because it's like, you just never would think that that would happen in your life."

Stefani went on to explain how she often encounters references to McEntire in her home state of Oklahoma. When she and Shelton go out, they frequently come across photos and posters of McEntire.

"We went into some thrift store, and there's a framed picture of Reba signed, and I'm like, 'Oh my God! There she is again!" Stefani exclaimed. "Then, we went to an Italian restaurant, and there was a framed picture of her. All in one day."

Jennifer Hudson acknowledged McEntire's status as the queen of country, to which Stefani added, "She's the queen of Oklahoma as well."

Stefani's positive remarks about McEntire dispel any rumors of a feud between the coaches of The Voice Season 24. Prior to the start of the season, there were rumors suggesting that Stefani was not pleased with McEntire taking over Blake Shelton's role as the country expert.

According to a source, "Gwen is gunning for Reba" so that McEntire "falls in line," as reported by Radar Online. Another insider claimed, "Blake has been the king of the coaches since the start of the show, and Gwen saw his departure as a chance to really shine and take over the reins."

Furthermore, a body language expert alleged that Stefani displayed a cold demeanor towards McEntire during the premiere. However, it appears that any tension is purely for show, as the two stars have no animosity towards each other.
