Arrest warrant, criminal summons issued for Miles Bridges
Suspended Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges issued arrest warrant and criminal summons for violating domestic violence protective order.
Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges has been issued an unserved arrest warrant and criminal summons for violating his domestic violence protective order, according to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. This comes after Bridges pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge in November and received three years of probation. The incident in question occurred on Tuesday with the same woman involved in the previous case.
The Hornets have acknowledged the reports and are currently gathering more information regarding the situation. Bridges, who was a restricted free agent at the time of the initial case, recently signed a one-year, $7.9 million qualifying offer to return to the team.
In July, Bridges issued a sincere apology for the pain and disappointment caused by the incident, expressing his commitment to personal growth through therapy and becoming a better person. The NBA subsequently suspended him for 30 games, but with 20 games already credited, he will only miss the first 10 games of the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
During the 2021-2022 season, Bridges emerged as the Hornets' leading scorer, averaging 20.2 points per game. However, his future playing time may be impacted by these recent developments.
