49ers running back Christian McCaffrey ruled out vs. Browns oblique injury

San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey ruled out of game with oblique injury, ending his touchdown streak.

San Francisco 49ers' standout player, Christian McCaffrey, suffered an oblique injury and was forced to sit out Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Despite scoring a touchdown early in the matchup, McCaffrey was visibly in pain on the sidelines during the third quarter, prompting the team's medical staff to attend to him. While the specifics of the injury remain unclear, McCaffrey was seen going to the blue medical tent while the 49ers' offense took the field.

Initially, McCaffrey was listed as questionable to return due to the oblique injury. This occurred as the Browns kicked a 46-yard field goal late in the quarter, giving the 49ers their first second-half deficit of the season. McCaffrey did return for the team's first play following the field goal, but he sprinted to the locker room later in the drive.

It was officially announced in the early fourth quarter that McCaffrey would be ruled out for the remainder of the game.

During the 49ers' opening drive, McCaffrey caught a 13-yard touchdown pass, extending his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown to 15. This tied him with O.J. Simpson and John Riggins for the second-longest streak in league history, including playoffs. Only Lenny Moore holds the record with 17 straight games.

Prior to the injury, McCaffrey had accumulated 510 rushing yards and eight total touchdowns in the season. He had 43 rushing yards on 11 carries and nine receiving yards on three catches before leaving the game.

Entering the fourth quarter, the 49ers were trailing the Browns with a score of 13-10. However, they managed to regain the lead after D Lenoir intercepted Browns quarterback P.J. Walker, setting up an eight-yard touchdown run by Jordan Mason. The San Francisco 49ers fought hard to secure the win.
