Britney Spears: Colin Farrell Fling Compared to a Brawl
Britney Spears reveals details of her passionate fling with Colin Farrell in her upcoming memoir, causing controversy and potential legal action.
In her highly-anticipated memoir, "The Woman In Me," Britney Spears has opened up about her relationship with Colin Farrell, revealing intimate details about their time together. The Grammy-winning singer first met the Irish actor through a mutual friend and later visited him on the set of his movie "S.W.A.T." in 2003. According to Britney, the chemistry between them was undeniable.
Describing their fling as "passionate," Britney likened it to a "street fight," stating that they were "all over each other." In an excerpt from the book revealed by Time magazine, she wrote, "Brawl is the only word for it - we were all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight."
Interestingly, at the time, Colin denied any romantic involvement with Britney, telling reporters on the red carpet that they were just friends. Britney, on the other hand, admitted to kissing him but claimed it was nothing serious, as she was still in love with her teenage sweetheart, Justin Timberlake.
Reflecting on her feelings for Justin, Britney revealed that she tried to convince herself that her fling with Colin was not a big deal. She confessed, "As I had before when I'd felt too attached to a man, I tried to convince myself in every way that it was not a big deal, that we were just having fun." However, she also expressed her loneliness and awkwardness during that time, as disappointments in her romantic life contributed to her feeling isolated.
In her memoir, Spears also disclosed that Justin had been intimate with multiple girls in the weeks following their split in 2002. She admitted to still being in love with him at the time and described him as a "girl's dream."
One shocking revelation in the book is Britney's claim that Justin pressured her to have an abortion when they found out she was pregnant at the age of 19. She writes that Timberlake "definitely wasn't happy" about the unexpected pregnancy and was adamant about not wanting to become a father. Ultimately, Britney underwent the "agonizing" procedure, stating that she agreed not to have the baby, although she questioned whether it was the right decision.
It is worth noting that lawyers representing both Timberlake and Farrell have reportedly threatened legal action over these claims made by Britney in her memoir.
