Detroit Lions running back Mohamed Ibrahim undergoes surgery to repair a dislocated hip after being injured during a game.
In a game against the Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions running back Mohamed Ibrahim suffered a dislocated hip and underwent surgery at a Baltimore-area hospital. Ibrahim, who was called up from the practice squad for the game, was injured during a kick return in the third quarter. Lions players immediately signaled for medical assistance after Ibrahim was tackled, and he was eventually taken off the field on a stretcher. Lions coach Dan Campbell expressed optimism about Ibrahim's condition, but stated that he would be staying overnight at the hospital. This injury adds to the Lions' challenges at the running back position, as both David Montgomery and Craig Reynolds were already dealing with injuries. However, Jahmyr Gibbs and Reynolds were able to contribute in limited action during the game. In addition to Ibrahim, Lions return man Kalif Raymond and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez also suffered injuries during the game. Despite the setbacks, Rodriguez remained positive about his ankle injury.
