Burks drained a crucial 3-pointer to give Detroit a 13-point lead, but LaVine answered with a 3-pointer of his own, surpassing the 40-point mark. LaVine's dunk brought him to an impressive 49 points and narrowed the Pistons' lead to 95-89. However, Duren's solid rebounding prevented the Bulls from closing the gap. Duren's putbacks and Stewart's layup extended the Pistons' lead to 105-91. LaVine managed to surpass the 50-point mark with 4:28 remaining, but the Pistons responded with a nine-point run, ultimately sealing the victory.

In the final stage of the game, the Pistons' impressive performance, led by Cunningham and supported by Duren, Burks, Stewart, and Bagley, proved to be too much for the Bulls to overcome, despite LaVine's outstanding individual performance. The Pistons' dominant display not only ended their losing streak against the Bulls but also showcased their potential for future success.
