According to Spotrac, Davante Adams is earning $28,000,000 in 2023, making him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league. He is currently in the final year of a lucrative five-year, $140,000,000 contract that he signed with the Raiders following his trade from the Green Bay Packers.

Throughout his professional football career, Adams has signed various contracts, but his current deal with the Raiders provides him with stability as he approaches his mid-thirties in the NFL.

In terms of performance, Davante Adams has had a relatively average season by his standards in 2023. In seven games for the Raiders, he has accumulated 528 receiving yards and three touchdowns. This can partly be attributed to the subpar quarterback play from Jimmy Garoppolo and the questionable game plans from the coaching staff. As a result, Adams is on track to have his least productive season since his time with the Packers.

The increasing rumors of Adams being disgruntled and requesting a trade are not without reason. However, the Raiders' front office has a reputation for being firm when it comes to players' choices. It would be wise for Adams and the franchise to focus on salvaging their 2023 season before engaging in crucial discussions at the end of the season.
