"Action Bronson TCS NYC Marathon Kick-Off Party Rocks with New Balance"
Action Bronson celebrates the New York City Marathon and his partnership with New Balance at a kick-off party.
Action Bronson delighted the crowd at New Balance's TCA New York City Marathon Kick-Off Party with his playful exclamation of "F -- Kenny G!" during his performance. However, he wasn't actually dissing the Grammy-winning smooth jazz saxophonist. Instead, he was praising the incredible talent of Matt Carrillo (aka Young Mexico), the saxophonist and keyboardist who played a key role in the band's whimsical set.
This event marked the convergence of sports and hip-hop, a trend that has been ongoing for decades. Action Bronson was not only celebrating the upcoming 26.2-mile race, but also his partnership with sports footwear giant New Balance. After his collaboration with Adidas was unexpectedly canceled in 2019, Bronson joined forces with New Balance and announced a new multi-item collaborative capsule with the brand in March. One of the standout items in the collection was the New Balance 990v6 "Baklava" sneaker. Later on, another 990v6 sneaker called "Lapis Lazuli" was released exclusively on Bronson's specializinginlife.com website before receiving a global release.
Backstage before his performance, Bronson expressed his fascination with nature's beauty and its whimsical qualities. This fascination with nature served as inspiration for the design of his New Balance collaborations, evident in the forest green and deep blue colorways. Bronson's partnership with New Balance held special significance for him, especially after his unfavorable experience with Adidas. As he explained, he has always been a fan of New Balance due to his family's need for comfortable and supportive footwear. He humorously compared his foot type to "a triangle slice of pizza."
During his set, Bronson delivered energetic performances of his songs, allowing his band members to showcase their skills and entertain the audience. His stage presence was characterized by his charismatic and whimsical style, even going so far as to touch his toes on stage and incorporate unique percussion elements.
While Bronson's last studio album, Cocodrillo Turbo, was released last year, he is already working on his next LP, although he prefers to keep his plans under wraps. He hinted at exciting things to come in the new year, expressing his enthusiasm while jokingly admitting he was stoned.
The TCS NYC Marathon is set to launch on Sunday, November 5th at 8:00 a.m. EST, marking an exciting event that combines the worlds of sports, music, and fashion.
