Sharks end 11-game skid with 2-1 win over Flyers

The San Jose Sharks finally snap an 11-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Goalie Mackenzie Blackwood made 38 saves.

The San Jose Sharks have been having a tough time lately, but they finally have something to celebrate after snapping an 11-game losing streak. The team beat the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1, with Anthony Duclair scoring a goal and an assist. This victory comes after a particularly difficult month for the Sharks, who matched the longest losing streak to start a season in NHL history.

The Sharks' goalie, Mackenzie Blackwood, expressed relief and happiness after the win, noting that it's been a long time coming. The team can finally take a breath and look to build on this positive momentum. Blackwood made 38 saves during the game, and William Eklund added a power-play goal for the Sharks, who had allowed 10 goals in each of their previous two games.

San Jose coach David Quinn commended the team for their resilience and hard work, giving credit to the leaders and older players for stepping up during the game. Despite being outshot by the Flyers, the Sharks managed to secure a much-needed victory.

Joel Farabee scored for the Flyers, who have lost five of their last six games. Despite the loss, Farabee acknowledged that anyone can beat anyone in the NHL and that the Flyers were simply looking for that one bounce to turn the game around.

The Flyers played without starting goaltender Carter Hart, who was sidelined due to an injury, and top center Sean Couturier returned to the lineup after missing two games. Despite Couturier's return, the Flyers were unable to secure the win.

The Sharks' Duclair and Eklund both made significant contributions to the team's victory, with Duclair scoring early in the first period and Eklund adding a power-play goal in the second. Farabee's late goal for the Flyers wasn't enough to turn the tide.

Looking ahead, the Sharks will host the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night, aiming to halt an eight-game losing streak to the Oilers. The team will be looking to build on their recent win and turn their season around.
