Netflix concluded Geeked Week 2023 with an explosive and action-packed trailer for Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon. The trailer provides a thrilling glimpse into the adventure that awaits a group of rebels as they band together to stop a deadly threat from the Motherworld.

Rebel Moon is a highly-anticipated 2-part movie event that has been "decades in the making." The newly released trailer, titled A Child of Fire, introduces viewers to Sofia Boutella's Kora, a mysterious stranger with a hidden past living among peaceful farmers on the moon of Veldt.

As hostile ships enter the atmosphere, Kora realizes that trouble is imminent. These invaders from the Motherworld have discovered that the farmers have unknowingly sold their crops to a group of insurgents, and they are determined to make them pay the price, despite their innocence.

In response, Kora embarks on a quest to recruit fighters willing to defend the people of Veldt. The trailer provides a glimpse of the warriors she seeks to enlist, including Kai (Charlie Hunnam), a pilot and gun for hire; General Titus (Djimon Hounsou), a legendary commander; Nemesis (Doona Bae), a master swordswoman; Tarak (Staz Nair), a captive with a regal past; and Milius (E. Duffy), a resistance fighter.

Additionally, the trailer offers a brief look at Anthony Hopkins' character, Jimmy, an ancient mechanized protector who awakens with a new purpose.

The trailer is filled with high-octane action, featuring laser swords, robots, explosions, and much more. Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire is set to be released on Netflix on December 22, 2023, followed by Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver on April 19, 2024.

In addition to the two films, there are discussions of potential feature follow-ups, a TV series, and a video game adaptation. Director Zack Snyder has also confirmed that director's cuts of both parts of Rebel Moon will be released, similar to his approach with Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Originally pitched as a Star Wars movie, Rebel Moon has evolved into an original concept by Snyder. Netflix provides a brief synopsis of the story, highlighting Kora's journey as a lone-wolf soldier who finds herself drawn back into her violent past when a sadistic admiral, Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein), arrives on Veldt to stir up trouble on the orders of the Imperium's tyrannical regent, Balisarius (Fra Fee).
