Robert Lewandowski had an outstanding performance, scoring twice as Barcelona made a remarkable comeback to defeat Alaves 2-1 in LaLiga on Sunday. The game got off to an unexpected start when teenager Samu Omorodion scored just 18 seconds into the match following a mistake by Ilkay Gundogan. Although Samu missed an opportunity to extend the lead, Barcelona responded with a Lewandowski header in the 52nd minute and secured the win with a penalty from the Polish striker 12 minutes from time.
Barcelona remains in third place in the table, trailing leaders Girona by four points and Real Madrid by two. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory against Villarreal, with goals from Axel Witsel, Antoine Griezmann, and Samuel Lino. Real Betis and Sevilla played to a 1-1 draw in their derby match, while Napoli suffered a surprising 1-0 home loss to Empoli, leaving them in fourth place in Serie A.
In other league action, Inter Milan returned to the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Frosinone, Fiorentina beat Bologna 2-1, and the Lazio-Roma derby ended goalless. Bayer Leverkusen reclaimed the top spot in the Bundesliga with a 4-0 win over Union Berlin, RB Leipzig secured a 1-0 victory over Freiburg, and Werder Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt played to a 2-2 draw.
In France, Lyon claimed their first Ligue 1 win of the season with a 1-0 victory over 10-man Rennes, while Lille and Toulouse played to a 1-1 draw, Clermont won their basement battle with Lorient 1-0, Metz beat Nantes 3-1, and Lens edged out Marseille 1-0 with a last-minute winner from Jonathan Gradit.
