Hello Kitty Island Adventure Nominated at Game Awards
"Hello Kitty Island Adventure" nominated for best mobile game at The Game Awards, faces fierce competition. Apple Arcade seeks first win.
Apple Arcade's "Hello Kitty Island Adventure" has been nominated for best mobile game at The Game Awards, but the competition is intense. Apple has always been a major player in the mobile gaming industry, with the iPhone and the App Store leading in revenue. However, Apple Arcade is a relatively new venture, and despite being nominated for awards since its debut in 2019, none of its titles have won.
The developer Sunblink Entertainment released "Hello Kitty Island Adventure" in July 2023, and it has quietly gained popularity, consistently ranking in the top five Apple Arcade games. It will be competing against well-known titles such as "Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis," "Honkai: Star Rail," "Monster Hunter Now," and "Terra Nil."
Despite previous nominations for titles like "Sayonara Wild Hearts," "Grindstone," "What the Golf?" and "Fantasian," Apple Arcade has struggled to capture critical attention. With over 300 titles available in the service, none have won awards at The Game Awards, and very few have been nominated.
The Game Awards 2023 will take place on December 7, and fans can vote for their favorites in all 31 categories on The Game Awards website. The winners are ultimately selected by a voting jury, so the fate of "Hello Kitty Island Adventure" and the other nominees will be in their hands.
